The Legend of Zakiram:

The God of Wealth of Zaki Temple is named Zakiram, said to be the embodiment of Palden Lhamo, the protective goddess of Lhasa City. According to legend, a female believer named Zakiram came to Lhasa from inland followed by a master of Sera Monastery. Her unparalleled beauty sparked jealousy among local goddesses, who poisoned her and cruelly cut her feet. Zakiram used her abilities to push the poison onto her tongue and replaced her cut feet with chicken claws. Unable to defeat her, the goddesses gave up. Because of this legend, the Buddha image of Zakiram features widely open eyes, a black face, a black poisoned tongue sticking out, and a pair of chicken claws.

Originally, Zaki Temple was visited by outsiders praying for safety rather than wealth. Mostly businessmen who came to ask for safety found their wishes granted, and gradually Zaki Temple became known as the Temple of the Goddess of Wealth.
