What Is Vipassana

Vipassana, also known as insight meditation, is an ancient meditation practice originating from the teachings of Buddha.
It is not an escape from life, nor an attempt to empty your mind, but to see clearly everything that is happening within life exactly as it is.

Many people mistake meditation for thinking about nothing. The heart of Vipassana is mindful awareness: noticing physical sensations, emotional states, and the endless thoughts passing through your mind. You do not chase pleasant feelings, nor resist painful ones. You simply observe.

Most of the time we are carried away by emotions, attachments, and preferences. We get trapped in regret for the past and anxiety about the future. Vipassana invites us to pause, return to the present, and understand that sensations are only sensations, thoughts are only thoughts — they are not who you are.

Through consistent observation, we gradually realize everything is constantly changing. Happiness fades, and pain also passes. Nothing lasts forever, which is impermanence. Once you truly see impermanence, your attachments loosen, and your inner suffering eases.

Vipassana does not require you to step away from daily life. You can practice awareness while eating, walking, working, and interacting with others. Its ultimate goal is not supernatural experiences, but inner freedom: less resistance, more peace, clarity, and acceptance.
