Cherish Every Encounter, for It May Be a Reunion from a Previous Life

Life is a long journey. As we move through the river of time, we continuously meet different people along the way. Some stay with us for years, while others merely pass by. Some bring warmth and joy, while others bring challenges and lessons. Regardless of how long they remain in our lives, every encounter deserves to be cherished.

There is a saying in Buddhist philosophy: every meeting in this life is guided by karma and destiny. Among billions of people, the chance that two individuals meet, get to know each other, or even exchange a brief glance is never entirely accidental. Perhaps it is because of an unfinished connection from a previous life that we are reunited in this one.

When we view relationships from this perspective, we naturally become more understanding and less resentful. Those who have helped us are gifts from life. Those who have hurt us may have come to teach us resilience and growth. Every person who enters our life carries a unique purpose.

Treating every encounter with kindness is not only an act of compassion toward others but also an act of kindness toward ourselves. When we approach people with sincerity and goodwill, we gain more than friendship and trust—we gain inner peace. A kind-hearted person may not be loved by everyone, but they will always possess a brighter and calmer soul.

Too often, we assume there will always be more time. Yet life is full of uncertainty. The person beside us today may be far away tomorrow. The friend we talk with now may one day disappear from our path. Therefore, never hesitate to offer a greeting, express gratitude, or show appreciation. And never allow a moment of anger to damage a precious connection.

Life’s greatest regrets are often not the opportunities we missed, but the people we failed to cherish. Instead of regretting after losing someone, it is better to treasure them while they are still present.

May we face every encounter with gratitude and every farewell with grace. Cherish the people before you and appreciate the connections you have today. Every meeting is a story written by life, and every reunion is one of destiny’s most beautiful arrangements.

Cherish every encounter, for it may be a reunion from a previous life. Treasure every bond, for it is also one of the warmest spiritual journeys in this life.
